FREE events to enjoy with the kids this weekend (Austin Area)

BookPeople: Saturday 4/7 @11:30AM. Join us this morning for a dazzling rendition of a classic story of make-believe, Stone Soup! Our unbelievably talented and crazy puppeteers will crack you up with their animated storytelling, silly voices, and singalong songs!

Whole Foods: Sunday 4/8, 12-2pm. Hey kids, stop by and check out what’s going on at Kid’s Club. Each week we have an exciting activity that will let you play with your food plus learn a couple things along the way.

Ruta MayaJoin us Sunday 4/8 at 10:30 AM Kids’ entertainer Darren Peterson, decked out in a crisp white shirt, black pants and bright red bow tie, is trying to coax a few words from his parrot pal, Lauren McCaw.

Chaparral Ice:  Saturday 4/7 @ 12pm FREE SKATING CLASSES – Try out a skating class! We offer free one-time, 30-minute introductory classes for beginners age 6 and up. Students must fill out a free class registration card. Stop by the front desk before the class for your card, fill out the card, get your skates, and give the card to your instructor before class. Allow 20-30 minutes to sign up and get skates properly fitted. Dress Warmly!

Funky Chicken Coop Tour: Saturday 4/7 10am-4pm. Austin’s city chickens (and their owners) are anxious to strut their stuff! So mark your calendar!! This year’s coop tour promises to be the “Best in Show”. Selected backyard poultry enthusiasts will showcase their coops after meeting certain criteria. Coop owners selected will represent our city as chicken ambassadors in the funkiest town in Texas!

First Saturday at the Bob Bullock Museum: Satuday 4/7 2-6 pm The Museum offers FREE admission to the exhibits on the first Saturday of each month with First Saturdays. Visitors can also take advantage of the monthly thematic TEXplorations Family Story Time from on First Saturdays.

Easter Egg Hunts: Super awesome Heidi from made an Easter Egg Hunt Roundup, so you can take your pick of all the available ones in your area!
