Newspaper Insert Preview 8/5

There will be 3 inserts in this Sunday’s paper:

If you just started couponing it would help a lot to know how many newspapers to buy (you don’t have to buy newspapers if you don’t want to but it helps a lot!)

The rule of thumb is 1 newspaper per family member so we have 4 family members , so I buy 4. Some people buy an extra newspapers, but I have issues with this since I am not a fan of odd numbers!

Also, if you are barely starting and all this is really new to you, I recommend buying only 2. If there’s a BOGO sale you can still get 1 deal. Once you get the hang of it you can buy as many as you want.

Make sure you look for small town newspapers (which are usually cheap)  and Free Spanish newspapers. For example sometimes the newspapers in the Austin, TX area have P&G inserts and Sometimes even red plum and Smart Source

This are the ones I check every week:

  • Lake Travis View
  • Westlake Picayune
  • Ahora Si
  • El Mundo
  • Oak Hill Gazette

  1. I have a question…. Where do you find some of those smaller papers? I am in Leander and would like to get a couple papers to get the redplum insert tomorrow but I really don’t want to have to pay $2.50 a paper to get it! do they sell Austin papers at any of the local dollar trees for a dollar? I know they do in the Dallas area but I wasn’t sure if they do in this area…. Also is there a place where you can get discounted sunday papers on monday or tuesday? thank you in advance for answering my questions :)

    • Sasha,

Unfortunately in Austin the Dollar stores don’t sell the Sunday newspaper reduced, at least all the ones I’ve ever tried at. The smaller newspapers I talk about on my post usually only have the P&G inserts. They come out about a week before they come out on the regular newspaper. If you are north they might have a couple others (Cedar Park, Leander, Pflugerville) that might carry those too. Please let me know if you have any other questions! I am here to help!

      Thanks for reading!
