Detox Water Recipe

Lately my stomach hurts all the time and I am feeling miserable and bloated, the heat doesn’t help much either so I asked a friend and she gave me a yummy recipe for some detox water, so of course I decided I should share with you guys :)

Detox Water Recipe
Print
Recipe type: Detox Water
Ingredients
  • Water
  • 1 slice grapefruit
  • 1 tangerine
  • ½ cucumber, sliced
  • 2 peppermint leaves
Instructions
  1. Just add everything to a pitcher, drink 8 oz before every meal at least 3 times a day.
  2. The longer it sits the better it’ll taste.

I found all the ingredients at Whole Foods, and instead of a pitcher I used the glass bottles I got with flavored lemonade also from Whole Foods, by the way……………so delish! and they are on sale this week 5 for $5!

Give it a try and let me know how you like it.

BookPeople: Saturday 6/9 @12PMIt Jes’ Happened is a biography of outsider artist Bill Traylor, a former slave who at the age of 83 began to draw pictures based on his memories and observations of rural and urban life. As an enslaved boy on an Alabama farm in the early 1860s, Bill Traylor worked in the hot cotton fields. After slavery ended, Bill’s family stayed on the land as sharecroppers. By the time he was 79, Bill was all alone in the world. Lonely, poor and eventually homeless, he wandered the downtown streets of Montgomery, Alabama. But deep within himself Bill had a reservoir of memories of his lifetime spent on the land. When he was 83 years old, these memories blossomed into pictures. Bill began to draw people and places from his earlier life, as well as scenes from the busy city around him. Today, Bill Traylor is considered one of the most important American self-taught artists. Don Tate is the award-winning illustrator/author of more than 40 books for children, trade and educational. It Jes’ Happened: When Bill Traylor Taught Himself to Draw is a Lee & Low New Voices honor winner. His other titles include She Loved Baseball: The Effa Manley Story and Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite.

Thrifty Thursday: Using Reusable Bags to save more!

Reusable bags have really caught on. I know I personally have at least 25 of them (all free!) and I am shocked at how much they hold.

Here are the stores I know offer incentives for bringing in your own bags:

  • CVS - sells the Green Bag Tag for 99c. Bring your own bags and have them scan it and after 4 trips (must be on different days), you will receive a $1 ECB at the register
  • Sun Harvest – 5 cents per bag
  • Sunflower Markets – 10 cents per bag
  • Target - Offers 5c per reusable bag that is used to bag your purchases
  • Whole Foods – 10 cents per bag
Do you know any other stores that do this? Let us know!
